The Horses
All of these horses have impacted my life in some way & have taught me how to be the rider I am today. They all hold a special place in my heart & always will. I am continuing to take on new horses & this page will continually be updated!
Freckles CD (aka. Solace) is owned by Kathleen Beveridge of London, KY and was bred by Janis & Lee Durham of London, KY. He is a registered AQHA Foundation Quarter Horse. Solace has an interesting story that follows him where ever he goes. He was bred to be a cutting horse but decided he had other ideas. The Durham's leased him to Kathleen so that she could have something to ride for a while until she found a new horse. After she found a new horse she was trying to help the Durham's decide what to do with him. He was obviously not going to go back to being a cutting horse. Kathleen, being a student of my mother's, knew that I was looking to take on a new horse. She talked to the Durham's about this possibly opportunity. Solace came to me in May of 2007 after an accident left Kathleen with a broken finger. He was already entered in Walk/Trot at KDA & Kathleen called to see if I would want to show him. Sight unseen I agreed. She brought him to the Horse Park on Friday to show on Saturday. Needless to say it was love at first sight. The first ride was a little rough, he didn't know very much, but he was able to succeed with what he did know. He did so well at the show that Kathleen talked to the Durham's and decided that this was where he needed to go and what he needed to be doing. It has been an incredible privilege to ride & show this horse. He has all kinds of fans here in Region 2. 2008 was a fabulous year for him, including that he was the first Quarter Horse Olympian Steffan Peters has ever ridden. I can only continue to be pleased with his success.

Touchée is owned and was bred by my mother, Susan. She is registered Trakehner through ATA. She has been a work in progress between myself and my mother. It has been a neat experience to get the opportunity to be able to ride her. She has taught me how to ride & be a better rider. In 2008 I also completed my first I-1 on her.

Pistol Packin' Pete was owned by Lisa Thomas of Springfield, KY. He was a fabulous horse in all kinds of ways. He is the first horse I ever evented. He came to me when Lisa knew I was looking to take on another horse & became a project horse. He was shown successful in Dressage through First Level and Novice in Eventing. He is now at Midway College as part of their Equestrian Program. Pete passed away in August of 2009.

Good Vibrations (aka. Vibe) was bred & is owned by Audrey Narducci. Vibe came to me after being off of the race track for about a year. He was very successful on the track, just not as successful as the Narducci's would have liked. He is a fabulous horse and has been mistaken for an imported warm-blood, even though he is full Thoroughbred. There was a lot of training that had to be put into him as he had done nothing before he came to me. In his first real road trip to Tennessee he scored a 73% in intro and was the Reserve High Score for Intro.
Shakespeare (aka. Skippy) was owned by Sarah Davis & given to me when she went to college & he became my first horse. He is a Quarter Horse / Arabian Cross. He had a background in Dressage with Sarah, as Sarah was one of my mom's students. He had been doing First Level when I took over the ride on him. We worked our way through the levels & became fairly well known in Region 2. I was able to train him through Third Level before retiring him in 2004. His most success came in 2003 & 2004. Skippy has by far had the most impact in my riding. He has taught me what it is like to be a strong rider & to teach all of my horses good basics from the ground up. After being retired in 2004, I taught a few little kids how to have the correct position & how to work on their biomechanics. He now lives out his life in his pasture & enjoys all of the things that he has always enjoyed.
